The recent Ledger debacle is a public relations failure, rather than an engineering one, which inadvertently reveals something disturbing about the very nature of the Ledger company and its world view. Namely the fact that they still don't realize what they've lost - trust.

In this video I talk about why firmware updates are required, and why you need to be able to trust the company that is providing them (very much in the same way that you need to be able to trust your mobile phone manufacturer).

And then I examine what went wrong with Ledger from a marketing and public relations perspective.

What's more, I do all of this without once taking the English approach of pointing out that Ledger is French, which I think deserves some kind of medal.
