Introducing an easier way to understand CPRA

Every day at Transcend we engineer technical solutions to data privacy problems, such as building out APIs that connect directly to a company’s vendors in order to fully automate CCPA and GDPR requests. Our mission is to use smart engineering to make data privacy simple for companies everywhere.

In that spirit, today, we’re sharing something that we initially built as an internal experiment, in the hope you might also find it useful—a fully referenceable, searchable and shareable version of California’s new California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA). A large upgrade from the scanned PDF version we’ve all been slogging through online.

The CPRA law amends the California Consumer Privacy Act of 2018 (CCPA), and is a legislative initiative passed by the California ballot proposition system (“Prop 24”) as part of the 2020 U.S. elections.

Anyone who’s worked with PDFs knows they’re not the easiest documents to navigate, especially through all those markups.

In our new interactive version, you can:

• Use the left-hand navigation to quickly navigate to specific sections
• Use the dropdown menu above the navigation to toggle between reading the act’s text with strikethroughs, red/green highlights for changed text from the previous version, or to see a clean final version.
• Highlight sections of the act to share with colleagues
