Article summary

Introduction

Microsoft Teams is the fastest growing business application in Microsoft’s history for good reason. As the “hub for teamwork,” it is the unifying interface for what was previously a powerful but disparate toolset. As people started working from home in record numbers starting in March 2020, Microsoft Teams became essential technology and usage surged more than 110 percent.

However, as many organizations are discovering during their Teams rollouts, you simply can’t turn it on and hope for the best.

These “empty deployments” often result in patterns we have seen time and time again.

Either a surge of activity as users create Teams and invite other users as guests and then an adoption/productivity plateau outside of the occasional personal chat or VOIP call. Or in the case of a remotefirst digital workplace, sprawling Teams and channels that make it difficult for users to find what they need and for admins to ensure the right people have access to the right types of content.

To get the most out of Teams, you need to understand the key collaboration scenarios and associated
regulatory requirements across the organization as well as each department and configure the service accordingly.

For organizations that have already seen an adoption plateau, or those that rapidly deployed Teams to support remote work during the COVID-19 pandemic, this eBook is for you too!
